CREATE – written on a dusty, old up-right piano with questionable tuning in the middle of everyday life, the prayer of Create was formed. First verses, half a chorus, more verses, now lets reverse the chorus and re-write the bridge…back and forth but always with the aim to keep the lyrics honest, melodies pure and progressions carrying the heart of the song. Singer/Song writer and writer of Create, Lara, believes, "Every listener should FEEL the relationship between each level of the song – the lyrics should mean what the melody and progressions make you feel." The first person to hear the finished song - Nitin Fernando at iSoundCreative went to work on the arrangements preserving yet empowering the fragile warmth of the song. After tracking a few percussion lines, the vision for Create exploded into a passionate, haunting force that carries as it moves along with stunning strings and sweeping cymbals that fall and pick you up again. Lara's writing displays a distinct strength towards melodies that ebb and flow through beautifully patterned intervals and timely resolutions, leaving the listener feeling gently unravelled. The smooth, pure texture of Lara's voice shapes the feeling of the lyrics perfectly with her foundation of clarity, strength and warmth building as the song progresses. Now at the other end of the project, Lara reflects, "I never imagined a tiny heartfelt prayer at a piano could become something that actually sounds like how I felt in that moment of raw, soul-searching.
